Chojnów Landscape Park

The Chojnowski Landscape Park, located on the Warsaw Plain and in the Middle Vistula Valley, was established in 1993 and covers an area of 67.96 km². This area is primarily known for the Chojnowski Forest complex and the nostalgic landscapes of the Jeziorka River valley and a section of the Vistula Valley with its towering escarpments. The park is part of Warsaw's Green Ring and is a component of a larger network of protected areas, which also includes the Mazovian Landscape Park Complex. Nature conservation in the park focuses on preserving valuable ecosystems, plant and animal species, and historical-cultural assets such as palaces and monuments. The park is home to numerous protected species, including many birds, fish, reptiles, and amphibians, and its flora is enriched by protected plants and lichens. The park also encompasses important nature reserves and Natura 2000 areas, which protect aquatic habitats, meadows, and valuable fauna species. In addition to conservation efforts, environmental education is promoted through competitions and school activities. The park features numerous educational trails and tourist routes for hiking and cycling, encouraging active recreation in nature. An interesting fact is the presence of a rehabilitation center for injured birds and over 40 natural monuments. It is also worth noting that the forests of the Chojnowski Park are part of the "Lasy Warszawskie" (Warsaw Forests) Promotional Forest Complex, highlighting their role in preserving the natural landscapes and biodiversity of the region.
