The Christian Community "Puławska" in Warsaw is one of the most significant congregations of the Church of Christ in Poland, with its roots tracing back to the period immediately following World War II. Initially, the congregation on Puławska Street was provided with rather modest conditions—the tenement house was 80% destroyed. Thanks to support from the United States, it was successfully rebuilt, and in 1948, the new chapel was officially opened. In the early years of the congregation's existence, after a wave of arrests by the communist authorities in 1950, the Church's activities were severely restricted, and meetings moved to private apartments. In 1953, the congregation was incorporated into the structures of the United Evangelical Church, and in the following years, internal conflicts arose. A significant milestone was the construction of a new chapel in 1967 and the dynamic development of youth work in the 1970s, which led to the establishment of the Choir and the youth group "Living Stones." Following the political changes in Poland in the 1980s, the congregation became extensively involved in charitable and missionary activities, contributing to the development of new mission stations and the strengthening of the community. In 1988, it was transformed into the Church of Christ Congregations, and in 2004, a new pastor, Zbigniew Tarkowski, was appointed to leadership. Today, the congregation conducts a variety of religious and social activities, including worship services, Sunday schools, thematic meetings, and educational courses, as well as providing chaplaincy in prisons. Architecturally, the tenement house on Puławska Street has undergone numerous changes and adaptations to meet the growing needs of the community members. The Christian Community "Puławska" plays a vital role in promoting Christian values in Warsaw while actively engaging in social assistance and evangelism.
