wikipedia
Chrośna is a village in Poland, located in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, within Bydgoszcz County, in the commune of Solec Kujawski. Its history dates back to the 16th century, when it was part of the parish in Liszków. In the 18th century, the village came into the hands of the Zelechnicki family, and in the 19th century, it was a government-owned village with a noticeable religious division among its inhabitants: Protestants and Catholics. It is characterized by its unique location in the middle of the Bydgoszcz Forest, surrounded by woodland complexes and sand dunes. Chrośna has the character of a suburban village, placing it within the influence of the Bydgoszcz agglomeration. A county road and several tourist trails run through the village, making it an attractive destination for nature lovers. In the 19th century, the village had 122 inhabitants, and by 1921, this number had grown to 319, mostly Germans. During World War II, the village was part of the German-administered Bydgoszcz County, and after the war, it came under Polish control, which changed its demographic structure. Between 1948 and 1953, Chrośna had 360 residents, and a primary school operated in local buildings. Today, the village has about 163 inhabitants and is witnessing the development of micro-enterprises, while still retaining its predominantly rural character. The architecture of Chrośna consists mostly of post-war houses, with few buildings dating from before 1945. The village has a rich cultural context, blending German and Polish traditions, which can be seen in local events and organizations. An interesting fact is that the area around Chrośna is popular among tourists, attracting them with both its nature and regional history. The village is constantly evolving, and its history, location, and people create a unique mosaic.
