wikipedia
The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Wielopole Skrzyńskie is a Roman Catholic parish church with a rich history. Most likely built in 1678 thanks to the foundation of Father Maciej Kłosiński, a canon of Sandomierz, it was consecrated on November 1, 1683, by the Bishop of Kraków, Mikołaj Oborski. The church combines Renaissance and Baroque styles, constructed of stone and brick, with a single-nave interior and a pair of symmetrical transept chapels. Over the centuries, it has been renovated several times by various clergy, which has influenced its preservation and condition. The rich cultural history of the monument is invaluable; in addition to its religious functions, it is an important element of the local community. Notable features include historic furnishings such as a copper baptismal font from 1800, Baroque crucifixes from the 17th century, and sculptures of St. Adalbert and St. Stanislaus from the same era. In 1837, a painting of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary was created, and the iron doors leading from the presbytery to the sacristy, dating back to the early 16th century, are also remarkable. Interestingly, despite the passage of time, the church has retained its authenticity and character, bearing witness to many historical events. The interior of the temple, its organ, and the main altar create a unique atmosphere that attracts both the faithful and tourists, making it an important landmark on the religious map of the region and a cultural treasure of Subcarpathia.
