wikipedia
Cieciułów, a village in the Opole Voivodeship, within the Gmina Rudniki, boasts a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages. First mentioned between 1401 and 1404, it was a noble settlement, and its owners often donated land to monasteries, particularly to the Pauline monks in Wieruszów. In the 16th century, the village was partially divided among several owners, including nobles and clergy. In the 19th century, as part of the Wieluń County, Cieciułów was divided into three parts: the village, the manor, and the settlement (zaścianek), with a sizable population that later focused on agriculture and crafts. The village is home to the Tadeusz Kościuszko Public Primary School, whose construction began in 1930, and the Church of Divine Mercy from 1986, which serves as an important religious center for the residents. Cieciułów also has an active Volunteer Fire Department (OSP) and a Center for Rural and Firefighting Tradition, highlighting the local heritage and community engagement. The village population is approximately 511 people, and demographic challenges, such as migration to cities for work, are becoming increasingly evident. Cieciułów is characterized by its natural beauty, including ponds where wild ducks and storks can be spotted. The village has full infrastructure and actively promotes waste segregation initiatives. In 1992, the construction of the new church was completed, and Cieciułów became an independent parish. Among its notable residents is Kazimierz Stamirowski, a participant in the events of the Second Polish Republic. Cieciułów lives not only by tradition but also through sports—the LZS Bugaj association successfully organizes local football matches. Although the village faces the challenge of youth migration, it possesses a rich cultural and historical legacy that distinguishes it within the region.
