wikipedia
Cieleśnica is a village located in the Lublin Voivodeship, in Biała Podlaska County, within the administrative district of Rokitno. Its historical roots date back to the 15th century, when these lands belonged to the Andruszkiewicz family. In 1526, the village passed into the hands of the Cieleśnicki family, who established a manor farm (folwark), which gave rise to the name of the locality. Over the centuries, the manor changed owners multiple times, and in 1630 it was purchased by Aleksander Ludwik Radziwiłł, then Master of the Pantry of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and incorporated into the Biała County. As a sołectwo (administrative village unit), Cieleśnica had a population of 502 according to the 2011 National Census. The village is also home to faithful of the Roman Catholic Church, who belong to the Parish of the Holy Trinity in Janów Podlaski. Due to its historical connotations and changes in ownership, Cieleśnica boasts a rich cultural heritage shaped over the centuries. As part of the broader history of the region, the village reflects the political and social changes that have taken place in Poland, and its architecture and spatial layout may be of interest to those studying local history.
