Ciepielów

Ciepielów is an urban-rural municipality located in the Masovian Voivodeship, within the Lipsko County, with its administrative seat in the town of Ciepielów. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality belonged to the Radom Voivodeship. The area is home to approximately 5,530 residents (2019 data) and comprises 27 village districts, including Antoniów, Ciepielów-Kolonia, and Wólka Dąbrowska. The municipality covers an area of 135.3 km², of which 76% is agricultural land and 17% is forested. Ciepielów has a rich history dating back to the times of the Kingdom of Poland, when it was part of the Iłża County. A significant historical event in the region is the tragic incident of September 1939, when German soldiers murdered 300 Polish prisoners of war in the area. The municipality borders neighboring communes such as Chotcza, Iłża, and Lipsko, making it part of a diverse regional landscape. Due to its historical and cultural significance, Ciepielów is an interesting destination for those interested in Polish history and the development of local communities.
