W skrócie

wikipedia
Kąkolówka is a village in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, in Rzeszów County, known for its rich historical and cultural heritage. The village was founded in 1429 by Stanisław Kąkol, who received the founding privilege from Piotr Lunak Kmita. The charm of Kąkolówka lies not only in its architecture but also in its picturesque surroundings, nestled along the Biała and Denówka streams. Thanks to its initial establishment under German law, the village gained a ten-year exemption from taxes, which enabled its rapid development. In the 15th century, Kąkolówka was known for honey production and fishing, as well as its rich nectar-bearing flora. The locality thrived on agricultural produce and crafts, including weaving, which was a profitable activity for the inhabitants; in the 19th century, there were over 140 weaving workshops here. Despite the challenging conditions of the mountainous terrain, agriculture played a key role, with the cultivation of grains and vegetables, as well as animal husbandry. Local craftsmen produced a variety of tools, and milling was one of the important professions. Kąkolówka has undergone many transformations, passing through various stages of development and witnessing the history of the region, as evidenced by preserved documents such as the Village Books. Religiously, the village is centered around the Parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Many notable figures are associated with Kąkolówka, including Father Roman Kostikow and Bishop Marek Mendyk. Interestingly, despite numerous invasions and destruction, the inhabitants of Kąkolówka managed to rebuild their homes and infrastructure, and their traditions have survived for centuries. This is a place with a rich cultural and historical heritage that is not yet fully discovered and deserves greater attention and recognition.
