The Gdańsk Telecommunications Technical College, known as the Communication Schools Complex named after the Defenders of the Polish Post Office, was established in June 1951. It is located in the historic building of the pre-war Polish Post Office, which symbolizes the heroism of its defenders on September 1, 1939. The technical college began its operations under modest conditions but soon acquired modern equipment and a qualified teaching staff. Over the years, the school expanded its educational offerings, evolving into a recognized institution training technicians in popular fields such as telecommunications, electronics, and computer science. In 1974, Emir Chazbijewicz took over as head of the school and modernized the curriculum. After many years of changes, the school underwent a significant transformation in the 1990s, introducing new specializations and abolishing school uniforms. On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, the school entered a new era by transforming into the Communication Schools Complex, marking the end of the five-year technical college program and adapting to the new education system. Today, under the leadership of Dr. Eng. Wojciech Władziński, the Communication Schools Complex offers education in six professions, maintaining a leading position in Polish technical school rankings and collaborating with numerous local universities and businesses. Interestingly, the Telecommunications Technical College has a strong heritage, being part of Gdańsk's history, and its modern teaching approach combines tradition with innovation, contributing to the success of its graduates.
