Corpus Christi Parish in Warsaw

The Parish of the Body of Christ in Warsaw is a Roman Catholic community belonging to the Grochów Deanery of the Warsaw-Praga Diocese. It was established in 1917, and its history is closely tied to the development of the district where it is located. The parish church, dedicated to Our Lady of Victory, was built between 1929 and 1931. Architecturally, it stands out for its harmonious style, blending traditional and modern elements typical of the interwar period. The interior of the church is adorned with beautiful stained-glass windows and sculptures that attract the attention of both worshippers and tourists. Over the years, the parish has been served by many notable pastors, including Bishop Zbigniew Józef Kraszewski, who held this position for nearly 27 years, and Monsignor Zdzisław Gniazdowski, who had a significant impact on the parish’s development in the late 20th century. In recent years, under the leadership of younger clergy such as Father Mateusz Matuszewski and Father Wacław Madej, the parish has gained new faithful and launched a series of cultural and social initiatives. The current pastor is Monsignor Dr. Dariusz Szczepaniuk, who continues the tradition of supporting the local community and organizing educational and charitable events. The Parish of the Body of Christ is not only a place of worship but also a center of social life, hosting various events that bring residents together.
