Cyrla Shelter, also known as Cyrla Mountain Hut, is located in the Beskid Sądecki mountain range at an altitude of 844 meters above sea level, in the vicinity of the hamlet of Cyrla near Rytro. It is situated on the Cyrla clearing, on the southern slope, close to the summit of Makowica, which rises to 948 meters above sea level. The history of this facility dates back to 1999, when a food service point was established in a ruined farmstead. After officially commencing operations in 2001, the shelter began attracting mountain hiking enthusiasts. Run by former managers of the shelter on Hala Łabowska, it offers accommodation for up to 35 people, as well as a tent camping area and a bonfire site, making it a friendly place for tourists seeking contact with nature. The shelter is part of the Main Beskid Trail, providing easy access to numerous hiking routes, including trails to Rytro and Hala Łabowska. Additionally, about a 20-minute walk from the shelter, other trails lead to Nowy Sącz and the village of Barcice. Architecturally, the shelter blends into the mountain landscape, combining traditional elements of mountain construction with modern amenities. Culturally, it is an important point on the region’s tourist map, attracting nature and mountain hiking enthusiasts, and also offers an excellent opportunity to savor local cuisine. An interesting fact is that the shelter gained popularity thanks to its owners, who have experience in running another well-known shelter, which contributes to the quality of service and an atmosphere conducive to relaxation in natural surroundings.
