Człuchów is a rural commune located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, within the Człuchów County. Its administrative seat is the town of Człuchów. The commune has undergone changes in its administrative boundaries, as it was part of the Słupsk Voivodeship from 1975 to 1998. The commune covers an area of 361.65 km², of which 55% is agricultural land and 36% is forested. It consists of 25 village districts (sołectwa), such as Barkowo, Biskupnica, Bukowo, and Krępsk. In 2016, the commune was inhabited by 10,976 people, and by the end of 2019, this number had increased to 11,128. Człuchów is characterized by a rich demographic structure, and its residents are diverse. The commune also includes protected areas, such as nature reserves like Jezioro Bardze Małe, Jezioro Sporackie, and the Sosny Reserve, which are important elements of local environmental protection and also attract nature enthusiasts and tourists.
