The Museum of the Czarnków Land, located in Czarnków in a historic building that once housed a Prussian school from the late 19th century, is an institution dedicated to history, archaeology, and ethnography, focusing on the regions of Czarnków, Lipica, Romanowo, and Walkowice. The collection of museum exhibits began as early as the interwar period, primarily led by professors from the local secondary school. However, the museum was formally established only in 1998, and was initially intended to be named the "Nadnoteckie Museum." After World War II, the efforts to gather exhibits were continued by the director of the Municipal Public Library. The museum showcases its collections in three main departments: archaeological, ethnographic, and artistic-historical, featuring items dating from the second half of the 1st century AD to the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The archival exhibition includes memorabilia related to the history and daily life of the inhabitants of the Czarnków region. The Museum of the Czarnków Land also organizes temporary exhibitions, vernissages, author meetings, and workshops, contributing to its role as an important center of local culture and education. An interesting aspect of the museum is its history and the struggles associated with its establishment, which may intrigue visitors and provide a deeper understanding of the cultural and historical development of the region.
