Czerniejewo is an urban-rural municipality located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, within Gniezno County, with its administrative seat in the town of Czerniejewo. Between 1975 and 1998, it was part of the Poznań Voivodeship. The municipality covers an area of 112.01 km², of which 62% is agricultural land and 30% is forested. According to data from March 31, 2011, the municipality was inhabited by 7,172 people. The demographic structure of the municipality includes several village administrative units (sołectwa), such as Czeluścin, Gębarzewo, and Pawłowo, as well as several smaller settlements like Bure and Głożyna.
