Czerwieńsk is an urban-rural municipality located in the Lubusz Voivodeship, within the Zielona Góra County. Its seat, the town of Czerwieńsk, serves as the central point of this municipality, which was part of the Zielona Góra Voivodeship from 1975 to 1998. The municipality covers an area of 195.93 km², of which 35% is agricultural land and 51% is forests. This constitutes 12.47% of the total area of Zielona Góra County. In 2011, the municipality had a population of 9,860. The demographic and age structure of its residents reflects a diverse community, which is evident in its various village administrations, such as Będów, Nietków, and Sudoł, as well as localities without village status, like Boryń. The municipality borders other local government units, such as Bytnica, Sulechów, and Zielona Góra, fostering cooperation and regional integration.
