Czerwionka-Leszczyny, located on the Rybnik Plateau in the Silesian Voivodeship, is an urban-rural municipality with a rich history and diverse geography. The highest point is Mount Ramża (325 meters above sea level), and its terrain has been shaped by mining activities. The municipality lies within the Oder River basin, with the Bierawka River being the most important watercourse. Czerwionka-Leszczyny borders Rybnik, Żory, Knurów, and Orzesze. Due to its proximity to the Rybnik and Upper Silesian metropolitan areas, it is easily accessible from cities like Gliwice and Rybnik. An interesting feature is the Palowice Ponds complex in Palowice, a popular recreational area. The municipality is also a significant forested area, with forests covering 41% of its territory. In 2009, the municipal budget amounted to PLN 84.2 million, with education being the largest expenditure, reflecting the community's commitment to residents' education. Czerwionka-Leszczyny has numerous schools, including twelve primary schools, eight middle schools, and secondary schools. Historically, the region has undergone many administrative changes due to reforms that led to the creation and dissolution of municipalities and local units. Between 1975 and 1992, the town was named Leszczyny, and since January 1, 1992, it has been known as Czerwionka-Leszczyny. The municipality has a highly diverse economic base, with 2,454 registered entities, primarily in the private sector. The most important employer was the "Dębieńsko" Hard Coal Mine, closed in 2000, which a Czech company aims to reactivate. The municipality hosts numerous cultural and social initiatives aimed at integrating residents and developing the local community. Czerwionka-Leszczyny is a place where tradition meets modernity, fitting into the dynamically changing landscape of Upper Silesia.
