The commune of Dębowiec is a picturesque rural municipality located in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, within Jasło County. Its administrative seat is the town of Dębowiec. The commune covers an area of 85.81 km², which constitutes 10.33% of the county's area, with the vast majority of its land—as much as 60%—being agricultural land, and 32% forested. In 2004, the commune was inhabited by 8,347 people. The region is home to numerous villages, such as Cieklin, Folusz, Majscowa, and Wola Dębowiecka, each with its own unique history and character.
