Dźwirzyno is a picturesque sołectwo (village administration district) in northwestern Poland, located in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, situated on the Baltic Sea and the Resko Przymorskie Lake. The village is known as a popular summer resort with a seaport and well-developed tourist infrastructure, including numerous holiday centers, campsites, and high-standard hotels. Dźwirzyno is surrounded by exceptional natural assets, with a strip of coastal dunes, pine forests, and protected areas under the Natura 2000 program. In the center of the village stands the Church of Our Lady of Healing the Sick, built between 1982 and 1999. Dźwirzyno attracts many tourists thanks to opportunities for water sports, fishing, and annual events such as the nationwide run "Ku Słońcu" (Towards the Sun). The village is also part of the international Baltic Sea Cycle Route (R-10). In the past, Dźwirzyno, known as Rega, experienced many historical twists and turns, related to the Premonstratensian monastery and the port, which played an important role in trade. The first mentions of the settlement date back to the 13th century, and over the centuries, Dźwirzyno went through various stages of development, from fishing to becoming a health resort in the 20th century. In 1947, the current name Dźwirzyno was introduced. An interesting fact is the existence of natural monuments in the nearby areas, such as pedunculate oaks, and the development of sports infrastructure, including the Municipal Sports and Recreation Center offering various forms of physical activity. Dźwirzyno is not only a tourist gem but also a place with a rich history and beautiful natural environment.
