wikipedia
Resko Przymorskie, also known as Kamper See, is a coastal lake located in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in northern Poland, within the municipalities of Trzebiatów and Kołobrzeg. The lake's surface area varies between 553.9 and 668.6 hectares, and its waters are classified as "beyond class," indicating high susceptibility to biological degradation. The lake is protected under the Natura 2000 network and serves as an important habitat for water and marsh birds, including four endangered species. Resko Przymorskie is also a shallow fishing ground, primarily inhabited by bream, pike, and zander. Separated from the Baltic Sea by a narrow strip of spit, its northern shores are surrounded by dunes reaching up to 16 meters in height. Nearby towns include Dźwirzyno and Rogowo, popular tourist destinations with marinas and water sports infrastructure. The lake's history dates back to the Middle Ages when, in 1180, residents of a fishing village supplied fish to a Norbertine monastery. Historically, the Rega River flowed into the lake, facilitating commercial navigation. During World War II, Resko Przymorskie was used as a landing site for German seaplanes, and legends of lost treasures, including the Amber Room, continue to attract treasure hunters. Interestingly, in 2009, divers discovered the remains of a German wartime aircraft, further highlighting the region's rich history. Modern efforts focus on conservation and tourism development, with expanded cycling paths and ecological walking trails around the lake, attracting both tourists and nature enthusiasts.
