The municipality of Darłowo, located in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, covers an area of 269.45 km² and, according to 2013 data, had a population of 8,030 residents. The municipality does not include the town of Darłowo itself, which is a separate urban municipality. The area features diverse landscapes, with a significant proportion of agricultural land (58%) and forests (22%). The municipality lies on the Słupsk Plain and the Słowińskie Coast, with notable natural attractions including two coastal lakes—Bukowo and Kopań—and the rivers Wieprza and Grabowa, which are popular among kayakers. The region is also home to the Dąbki Health Resort, enhancing its tourist appeal. Darłowo Municipality boasts well-developed transportation infrastructure, including national and regional roads as well as railway lines, ensuring good connections to neighboring areas. Historically, the municipality was established after World War II as part of the so-called Recovered Territories. It underwent several administrative reorganizations, with its current form restored in 1973.
