Drobin is an urban-rural municipality located in the Masovian Voivodeship, within Płock County, with the town of Drobin serving as its administrative seat. Between 1975 and 1998, it was part of the Płock Voivodeship. In 2004, the municipality had a population of 8,614, which decreased to 8,024 by 2017. Historically, Drobin belonged to the Płock District in the Płock Governorate. On January 1, 1870, the municipality incorporated an area that had lost its town rights. The total area of the municipality is 143.19 km², of which 89% is agricultural land and 5% is forested, highlighting its significant role in the region's agriculture. In 2014, an analysis of the population's age pyramid was conducted, reflecting the dynamic development of the local community. The municipality of Drobin comprises numerous villages, including Biskupice, Borowo, Karsy, and Łęg Kościelny. It is surrounded by neighboring municipalities such as Bielsk, Raciąż, Staroźreby, and Zawidz, fostering inter-community cooperation.
