Dzierzgowo is a rural municipality located in the Masovian Voivodeship, within Mława County, with its administrative seat in the village of Dzierzgowo. According to data from 2014, the municipality had a population of 3,262, but by the end of 2019, this number had decreased to 3,051. The municipality covers an area of 150.63 km², of which 64% is agricultural land and 27% is forested. Among its notable natural assets is the Zieluńsko–Rzęgnowski Protected Landscape Area, spanning 922.83 hectares and managed by the Przasnysz Forest District. The municipality is also home to the Morena Rzęgnowska Documentation Site, a location of historical battles from World War II, adding to the region's historical significance. The area is rich in rivers, including the Łydynia and Węgierka, which play a vital role in the local ecosystem. The eastern part of the municipality is densely forested and utilized by the timber industry, while the northern areas consist of wetlands and marshes that serve as habitats for numerous animal species. Education in the municipality is primarily centered around two elementary schools and two kindergartens, located in Dzierzgowo and Rzęgnowo. The Dzierzgowo Municipality comprises several village districts, including Dzierzgowo, Rzęgnowo, and Choszczewka. It is also worth noting that the municipality boasts numerous interesting localities, such as Brzozowo-Utraty and Rogale. Neighboring municipalities include Chorzele, Grudusk, and Janowiec Kościelny.
