wikipedia
Fort XII, part of the Modlin Fortress, was built between 1912 and 1915 as an element of the second, outer ring of forts. Located near the village of Janowo, the fort was designed according to the F1909 pattern by General Konstanty Wieliczko. Although the construction was not completed, some of the planned structures were realized, including half of the main shelter and the postern leading to the counterscarp caponier. Fort XII is an example of military architecture and evidence of the development of fortifications in Poland at the beginning of the 20th century. From a historical perspective, the fort is an interesting part of the heritage of the Modlin Fortress, which played an important role in the country's defense. Unfortunately, Fort XII is currently abandoned and neglected, leading to its devastation as it has become an illegal dumping ground. As a result, the fort is not only losing its architectural value but also becoming a symbol of irresponsibility towards local history and culture.
