Zakroczym

Zakroczym is an urban-rural municipality located in the Masovian Voivodeship, within the Nowy Dwór County. Its history dates back to the distant past, and the town and surrounding areas boast a rich cultural and architectural heritage. The seat of the municipality is the town of Zakroczym, which belonged to the Warsaw Voivodeship from 1975 to 1998. The municipality covers an area of 71.42 km², largely consisting of agricultural land (72%) and forests (12%), reflecting its rural character. In 2004, the municipality was home to 6,385 people, while in 2017, the population was 6,087. The municipality includes numerous villages, such as Smoszewo, Błogosławie, and Trębki Stare. An interesting fact is that Zakroczym constitutes 10.33% of the total area of Nowy Dwór County.
