wikipedia
The Freshwater Fish Park, located on the eastern shore of Lake Sarcz in Trzcianka, was opened in 2013 and is a unique feature of the region. Its construction was completed on December 31, 2013, and the project is part of the initiatives implemented by the Nadnotecka Fisheries Group. The park aims to enhance the tourist appeal of the municipality and provide education in the field of ichthyology, conveying knowledge about fish, their environment, and feeding habits, with a particular focus on local species. The centerpiece of the park consists of models of freshwater fish, made of plastic, which precisely replicate the anatomical structure of species such as carp, rainbow trout, northern pike, European perch, and sturgeon. Each model is equipped with a descriptive plaque, allowing for a deeper understanding of fish diversity. Additionally, the park features fifteen educational boards covering topics related to ichthyology. It forms an integral part of Trzcianka’s recreational zone, situated along Road 178, surrounded by a beach, dining options, and infrastructure for cyclists and pedestrians. The project was co-financed by the European Union through the European Fisheries Fund, highlighting its significance not only for the local community but also at the European level. Over time, an increase in the number of fish models is planned, making the park a dynamically developing project.
