The municipality lies in the picturesque Łęczyca Basin, where arable land dominates (64% of the area), along with forests and meadows. Demographically, the municipality shows slow population growth, with 6,094 residents recorded in 2017. The settlements within the municipality are divided into 33 village councils (sołectwa), including places such as Balków, Janków-Orądki, and Mysłówka. The area is characterized by rich agricultural landscapes and numerous rivers, such as the Moszczenica and Malina. Historically, in 1975, Piątek Municipality lost part of its territory to Zgierz Municipality. It is also worth noting that between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Płock Voivodeship. Piątek offers architectural and cultural diversity, being part of the region's rich history, which was once situated on important trade routes. Interestingly, despite its small size, the municipality features highly diverse terrain, representing both traditional agricultural areas and forested regions, making it an intriguing destination for nature and history enthusiasts.
