Głowaczów is an urban-rural municipality located in the Masovian Voivodeship, within the Kozienice County, with its seat in the town of Głowaczów. The history of the municipality dates back to before 1949, when it was known as the Mariampol Commune, and from 1975 to 1998, it was part of the Radom Voivodeship. The municipality covers an area of approximately 186.26 km², of which 67% is agricultural land and 28% is forested. Głowaczów is inhabited by 7,166 people (as of December 31, 2019). The municipality comprises several village administrative units, including Adamów, Brzóza, Chodków, and Michałów, reflecting its diverse population and the character of its localities. Głowaczów also has its own symbols, such as a coat of arms, flag, banner, and seal, which feature emblems of noble families, including a birch tree symbolizing the village of Brzóza. The municipality borders communes such as Grabów nad Pilicą, Kozienice, and Pionki, fostering local cooperation. The mayors of the municipality have served various terms, with Hubert Czubaj currently holding the position (since 2018). Despite its small size, Głowaczów boasts an interesting socio-cultural structure and rich traditions, making it an important point on the regional map.
