The Roman Catholic Parish of Saint Lawrence in Głowaczów, known for its rich history, has its roots dating back to the 14th century. The first church was built around 1390, founded by Jan Głowacz of Leżenice. In the 15th century, the parish of Leżenice existed alongside Głowaczów, with its own wooden church, but over time the religious center shifted to Głowaczów. The history of the church is turbulent—the original temple was destroyed during the Swedish Wars, and a new brick church, constructed in 1675 according to the design of architect Tylman van Gameren, was consecrated in 1745. Unfortunately, in the early 19th century, the building was on the verge of collapse, and during World War II, both the church and parish buildings were completely destroyed. The current church, built between 1958 and 1966 according to the design of Władysław Pieńkowski, features a modern neo-basilica style with three naves. It was consecrated in 1966 by Bishop Piotr Gołębiowski. The parish holds four Masses on weekdays and four on Sundays and holy days, with additional Rorate Masses. The parish feasts take place on August 10, the feast of Saint Lawrence, and on May 24, the feast of Mary, Help of Christians. An interesting fact is that in 1916, Father Władysław Miegoń served as a vicar in the parish; he was beatified by John Paul II in 1999. The parish includes several localities, and before its establishment, Dobieszyn belonged to the Głowaczów parish. Each year, religious celebrations and parish customs continue to cultivate centuries-old traditions, forming an important part of the local culture.
