Gąbin is an urban-rural municipality located in the Masovian Voivodeship, within Płock County. It spans the area between the Vistula River valley and the Gostynińsko-Włocławski Landscape Park. The municipality comprises 32 villages, with its administrative seat in the town of Gąbin, which is also home to the Stanisław Staszic School Complex, a kindergarten, and a music school. Covering an area of 146.71 km², the municipality is predominantly agricultural (68% of the land) and forested (20%). Demographic data shows that in 2004, the population was 10,810, with only a slight change recorded by 2014. Gąbin boasts numerous educational institutions, and its history dates back to the 1950s when the former Dobrzyków municipality was transformed into Gąbin. The area is characterized by rich natural features, including nature reserves and natural monuments such as pedunculate oak and common ash trees. Gąbin is also part of the European ecological network ECONET-POLSKA and lies within the Gostynińsko-Gąbiński Protected Landscape Area, established in 1988, highlighting its ecological significance. The municipality borders the Vistula River and the city of Płock, as well as other municipalities in Płock and Gostynin counties, making it an important transportation hub. Additionally, thanks to its location and diverse structure, Gąbin hosts numerous cultural and educational events.
