Gmina Garwolin, located in the Masovian Voivodeship within Garwolin County, covers an area of 136 km² and is home to approximately 12,000 people. The seat of the municipality is the town of Garwolin. Historically known as the Wola Rębkowska commune until 1954, and between 1975 and 1998, it was part of the Siedlce Voivodeship. The municipality lies on the Garwolin Plain, shaped by the Wilga River, and is surrounded by forests that in the 18th century covered almost the entire area. These forests contain 52 trees recognized as natural monuments, reflecting the region’s rich flora. The town and municipality are situated along National Road 17, which connects Warsaw and Lublin, as well as the Warsaw–Lublin railway line, facilitating transportation to larger urban centers. In terms of education, the municipality has several primary schools, kindergartens, and nurseries, highlighting its commitment to the development of the local community. The presence of numerous villages, such as Budy Uśniackie and Wola Rębkowska, contributes to the cultural diversity of the area.
