General J. H. Dąbrowski First High School in Kutno

I Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Gen. Jana Henryka Dąbrowskiego in Kutno is the oldest secondary school in the city, established in 1907 as a four-grade Real School. Its history has been of significant importance to the local community, and its creation was initiated by Dr. Antoni Troczewski, who aimed to spread education in the region. Over the years, the school transformed, first into a gymnasium and later into a high school. Since its inauguration, the building has undergone several modernizations, including the construction of a gymnasium between 1922 and 1926 and a new building commissioned in 1965. The high school hosts various volunteer groups, including the OSP Dąbrowszczak, which organizes first aid training. The school is renowned for its rich extracurricular activities, including scouting and the theater group "Ciąg Dalszy Nastąpi," which has won awards at theater festivals across Poland. The school magazine "Przebojem," published since 1923, is an important element of the school's culture. The School Museum, founded in 1974, documents the history of the school and its alumni. The high school concluded the first term of 2023 with outstanding matriculation exam results, further solidifying its positive reputation in the region.
