wikipedia
Złota 44 is an exceptional residential skyscraper in Warsaw, located at Złota 44 Street in the Śródmieście district. Construction began in March 2008 and was completed in the autumn of 2013, with the grand opening taking place in March 2017. Designed by the American architect of Polish descent, Daniel Libeskind, the building draws inspiration from Warsaw's architectural traditions, including the Palace of Culture and Science. Standing at a height of 192 meters, it is the tallest residential building in Poland and the European Union. A distinctive feature of Złota 44 is its modern façade with a triple-glazed modular structure, ensuring excellent acoustic and thermal insulation. The apartments, averaging 120 m² in size, are equipped with an advanced HMS system that allows control of air conditioning, lighting, and other functions via magnetic cards. Residents have access to luxurious amenities such as a swimming pool, sauna, spa center, fitness club, and an observation terrace. Although the construction faced financial and legal challenges, the project was eventually taken over by the Amstar and BBI Development consortium, enabling its completion in line with the original vision. Złota 44 has received numerous awards, including the International Property Awards 2015, recognizing it as one of the best residences in the European Union. Also known as "The Sail," the building symbolizes modern architecture and the transformation of the capital, combining residential functions with luxury amenities, making it one of the most recognizable landmarks in Warsaw.
