Goszczanów is a rural commune located in the Łódź Voivodeship, within Sieradz County, with its administrative seat in the town of Goszczanów. Between 1975 and 1998, the commune belonged to the former Sieradz Voivodeship. It covers an area of 123.01 km², dominated by agricultural land, which accounts for 86% of its territory, while forested areas make up 6%. The commune occupies 8.25% of the total area of Sieradz County. Demographic data show that in 2004, the population was 6,000, but by the end of 2017, this number had decreased to 5,516 residents.
