Gozdowo Commune, located in the Masovian Voivodeship within Sierpc County, is a rural administrative unit formed by the merger of the former Lisewo and Lelice communes. Its administrative seat is the village of Gozdowo. Between 1975 and 1998, the commune belonged to the Płock Voivodeship. The commune covers an area of 126.7 km², of which 83% is agricultural land and 10% is forested. It constitutes 14.86% of the total area of Sierpc County. According to data from December 2008, Gozdowo had a population of 6,124 inhabitants. The commune is bordered by several neighboring communes, such as Bielsk, Brudzeń Duży, and Sierpc. Its administrative structure includes numerous village districts (sołectwa), such as Antoniewo, Białuty, Bombalice, Głuchowo, and Kowalewo. The region has rich agricultural traditions, which is reflected in the high percentage of farmland.
