Grodziczno is a rural municipality located in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, within Nowe Miasto County, with its administrative seat in the town of Grodziczno. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Toruń Voivodeship. As of December 31, 2019, the population of the municipality was 6,308. It covers an area of 154.27 km², dominated by agricultural land (75% of the area) and forests (14%). The natural assets of the municipality include the Wel Landscape Park and the Piekiełko Nature Reserve, which protects an important stretch of the Wel River. Parts of the Natura 2000 network are also located within the municipality, along with natural monuments such as majestic oaks in local parks and other rare tree species. Grodziczno Municipality is rich in historical and cultural heritage, with villages such as Boleszyn, Katlewo, and Nowe Grodziczno, as well as smaller settlements that together form a diverse residential landscape.
