Grupa Azoty Zakłady Azotowe „Puławy” SA is a Polish chemical group headquartered in Puławy, specializing in the production of nitrogen fertilizers and other chemicals. It was established in 1966, and its construction began following a 1960 decision by the Council of Ministers of the People's Republic of Poland aimed at intensifying fertilizer production in the country. In the 1970s, the plant expanded its portfolio by introducing the production of caprolactam and melamine. In the 1990s, it was transformed into a state-owned single-shareholder company, and in 2005, the company was privatized and became part of Grupa Azoty. The plant not only focuses on fertilizer production but also undertakes numerous initiatives in innovation and environmental protection, including the construction of modern flue gas desulfurization units. From an architectural perspective, the plant has developed industrial infrastructure, including modern granulated fertilizer production facilities, which showcase advanced technology and a commitment to sustainable development. Culturally, Grupa Azoty engages with local communities by sponsoring sports clubs and supporting the restoration of historical monuments. An interesting fact is that Grupa Azoty Puławy is one of the key players in the European nitrogen fertilizer market, achieving high export results, and its innovative approach to production has earned it numerous awards and distinctions in the chemical industry.
