Hajnówka

Hajnówka, located in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, is a city with a rich history dating back to the 16th century, when it was established as a forest guard settlement. Over time, situated at the western edge of the Białowieża Forest, Hajnówka evolved into a significant industrial and cultural center of the region. In 1888, the forest was incorporated into the management of the tsarist domains, which spurred the development of a narrow-gauge railway and attracted numerous residents due to industrial expansion, including sawmills.
