Harasiuki is a village in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, within Nisko County, serving as the administrative seat of the gmina (municipality) of the same name and home to the Parish of Divine Mercy. The settlement is situated on the border of the Biłgoraj Plain and the Tarnogród Plateau, along the Tanew River. Although the history of settlement in Harasiuki has not been thoroughly researched, the village most likely originated in the late 18th century, and its name derives from the Harasiuk family, who settled in the area. In the 19th century, the inhabitants were primarily engaged in crafts, beekeeping, logging, and agriculture. Harasiuki features two historical monuments: a military cemetery from World War I and World War II, and a collective war grave from 1944. The village witnessed significant historical events, including frontline battles during World War II, and underwent numerous changes after the war, such as the development of infrastructure and housing estates. During the Polish People's Republic, new institutions were established, including the Municipal Cooperative and the Building Ceramics Plant, which contributed to improving the quality of life for residents. Harasiuki is known for local crafts, such as the production of woven baskets and containers. Today, the village serves as the cultural and administrative center of the region, hosting local institutions like the municipal office, a cultural center, and a primary school. Cultural values are upheld by religious communities, including the Catholic parish and a congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
