wikipedia
Heinrich's Castle, also known as the Castle in Staniszów (German: Heinrichsburg), is located on Grodna Mountain in the Łomnickie Hills, near the village of Staniszów in Poland. The structure was built in 1806 as an artificial ruin, serving as a Neo-Gothic hunting shelter and observation tower. The design reflected the contemporary fascination with Romanticism, blending poetic symbolism with a sentimental appreciation for atmospheric locations. The castle, square in shape, is constructed of brick and irregular stone blocks, with its massive form crowned by a round tower. The façades are adorned with varied window openings, and the interior consists of two rooms with painted window panes. Historically, the castle changed hands among various families, with the von Reuss family playing a dominant role until the end of World War II. In addition to the castle itself, the surrounding area features rock-cut beam sockets and fragments of 13th-century ceramics. The castle underwent renovation between 2015 and 2016, allowing the tower to be opened to visitors starting April 30, 2016. Currently, the castle is privately owned and can be visited from May to October, making it an intriguing museum and tourist attraction in Lower Silesia.
