wikipedia
Wysoki Ostrów, also known as Cormorant Island, is a small island with an area of about 2 hectares, located on Lake Dobskie. It is characterized by rich vegetation, including deciduous trees, making it an attractive natural site. It has the status of a nature reserve, which means that strict protection rules apply in its vicinity – it is forbidden to land or moor there, and Lake Dobskie is covered by a silence zone, prohibiting the use of combustion engines and making noise. The island is an important nesting site for cormorants and grey herons, which attracts bird lovers and ornithologists. Interestingly, the trees on the island are partially dried out due to the large amount of bird droppings, giving it a specific character. Thanks to these conditions, Wysoki Ostrów becomes a unique tourist attraction and a great place for observing wildlife.
