The Parish of the Holy Spirit in Zambrów, part of the Łomża Diocese, was established on November 1, 1986, following the division of the territory of the Parish of the Holy Trinity. The pastoral center was founded, and the first parish priest was Fr. Heliodor Sawicki. In 1984, a temporary wooden chapel was initially built and consecrated by Bishop Juliusz Paetz. Construction of the brick church began in 1985 and was completed in 1992, when Bishop Paetz consecrated the new temple. The church was designed by Jerzy Kuźmienko, and its construction was managed by Andrzej Krawczyk. The cornerstone, brought from the tomb of Saint Peter and blessed by John Paul II, was laid in 1986. The church stands out for its architectural elements, such as a large cross instead of the planned tower. The interior of the church is adorned with a 37-stop pipe organ, one of the most important musical instruments in the Łomża Diocese, enabling diverse musical performances. The parish also includes several chapels: the Chapel of Our Lady Queen of Peace, the Chapel of Divine Mercy, and the Chapel of Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, richly furnished with reliquaries and stained-glass windows depicting Polish saints. The church is a place of worship where numerous services are held, including the Zambrów Organ Festival. Bishop Juliusz Paetz, as well as other important figures such as St. John Paul II, are particularly venerated here. Since 2009, the parish has regularly organized various cultural and religious events that bring the local community together. Throughout its existence, the parish has been led by several priests, and it is currently under the guidance of Fr. Robert Zieliński. The temple plays a significant role in the spiritual life of the residents of Zambrów and is also a historical site symbolizing the growth of the Catholic community in the region.
