wikipedia
Zambrowski County, with its seat in the city of Zambrów, is one of the counties of the Podlaskie Voivodeship, with a history dating back to the first half of the 15th century. Reactivated in 1999 as part of the administrative reform, the county includes the urban municipality of Zambrów and the rural municipalities of Kołaki Kościelne, Rutki, Szumowo, and Zambrów. The county borders the Łomża, Białystok, Wysokie Mazowieckie, and Ostrów counties, which contributes to its communication development. Demographically, according to 2020 data, the county had 43,390 inhabitants, and the unemployment rate was 6.2% in September 2019. In the architecture of Zambrów, influences of various styles can be observed, and the city serves as a center of local culture. Important architectural sites include the historic Church of St. Joseph and other public buildings that hold historical and aesthetic significance for residents and visitors. The county also has rich cultural traditions, associated with local customs, festivals, and the activities of associations that promote folklore and folk art. Zambrowski County offers many interesting facts. For example, in the 1950s, a new administrative division was introduced in the county, resulting in the organization of gromadas (small rural districts), some of which changed their administrative affiliations, providing interesting material for research on the history of the local community. Additionally, Zambrowski County was initially incorporated into the Łomża Voivodeship, and it was only as a result of the 1999 reform that its independence was restored within the Podlaskie Voivodeship. In terms of transportation, the county has a developed network of national roads, including the S8 expressway and several national roads, which enhances its attractiveness for investment and tourism. These connections are also important for the mobility of residents and facilitate access to larger urban centers. All these aspects—architectural, cultural, historical, and transportation-related—contribute to the unique character of Zambrowski County, which, despite its small area, offers rich opportunities for both residents and tourists.
