Węgierska Górka is a rural commune in the Silesian Voivodeship, located in the Żywiec County. The commune's seat is in the town of Węgierska Górka, and its area is divided into four village districts (sołectwa): Węgierska Górka, Cięcina, Cisiec, and Żabnica. The commune covers an area of 77.06 km², which constitutes 8% of the county's area, and according to data from the end of 2011, it is inhabited by 15,066 people, with a population density of 195.5 people/km². Geographically, the commune is situated in the Żywiec Basin, on the Soła River, surrounded by the southern mountain zone with elevations such as Barania Góra and Magura Cięcińska. A significant portion of the commune's area consists of forests (50%) and agricultural land (40%), and 55% of its territory is protected within the Żywiec Landscape Park, making these areas attractive for tourists and nature enthusiasts.
