Podczerwone

W skrócie

wikipedia
Podczerwone is a village in southern Lesser Poland, located in the Nowy Targ County, within the commune of Czarny Dunajec, with a rich history dating back to 1605 when it was founded by Szymon Czerwiński. Despite its favorable location, tourism in Podczerwone is not well-developed, although the region offers beautiful views of the Tatra Mountains and Babia Góra, encouraging hiking along field paths. The village is known for its unique peat bogs near the "Cikówka" forest, where rare species of vegetation can be found, as well as animals such as moose and wild boars. There are also opportunities to spend time by the Czarny Dunajec River, where natural swimming pools have formed. The history of Podczerwone highlights significant events from World War II, such as the tragic fate of partisans in 1943 and the crash of an American bomber in 1944. After the war, the village also hosted scouting camps. Architecturally, the parish church dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows stands out, with Marek Łabuzek serving as its parish priest. Transportation in Podczerwone is supported by local roads, and until 1991, there was a railway line leading to Slovakia. After 2014, the construction of a bicycle path was initiated, adding another attraction. Despite its diverse natural and cultural assets, Podczerwone has not yet become a popular tourist destination but is gaining importance as a recreational spot for residents of Podhale and tourists from all over Poland.
