The Jagiellonian Bursa is a student dormitory and assistant hotel of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, opened in 1976. Located at 14 Śliska Street in the historic district of Podgórze, it serves not only as accommodation for students but also for tourists, making it one of the oldest hostels in Kraków. The name of the institution refers to the Kraków Bursa Ubogich (Poor Students' Dormitory), founded in 1409 by Jan Isner, which, after renovations in the 16th century sponsored by Anna Jagiellonka, also began to be called the Jagiellonian Bursa. The Jagiellonian Bursa, characterized by its simple yet functional architecture, has undergone a series of modernizations, including thermal insulation upgrades in 2009 and interior renovations in 2010. Thanks to its location and functionality, the facility is a popular choice for students and tourists seeking budget-friendly accommodation in the heart of Kraków. An interesting fact is that the Jagiellonian Bursa not only emphasizes the comfort of its guests but also continues the tradition of supporting education and culture, aligning with Kraków's long history as Poland's academic and cultural center.
