Janów Lubelski is an urban-rural municipality located in the Lublin Voivodeship, within Janów County, with its seat in the town of Janów Lubelski. It is worth noting that between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Tarnobrzeg Voivodeship. According to data from the end of 2020, the municipality had a population of 15,643. Its total area is 178.24 km², of which 27% is agricultural land and as much as 65% is forested. Thus, the municipality is rich in green areas and covers 20.36% of Janów County's total area.
