The Jemielno Commune, located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship within the Góra County, covers an area of 123.8 km². According to data from 2015, it was inhabited by 3,130 people, a number that decreased to 2,971 by 2020. The commune consists mainly of agricultural land (46%) and forests (41%). It is an area characterized by a rich landscape dominated by rural terrain, favorable for agriculture and recreation. Within the commune, there are non-administrative villages such as Borki, Chobienia, and Gąsior. Jemielno, which serves as the commune's seat, was historically linked to the Luboszyce Commune and, before 1975, belonged to a different voivodeship. Interestingly, despite administrative changes, the commune has maintained strong local ties. Village districts like Bieliszów, Irządze, and Kietlów indicate a diverse settlement structure. The commune's demographics, clearly reflecting an aging population, highlight the need for initiatives aimed at retaining young people and attracting new residents. Neighboring communes, such as Góra and Wińsko, influence regional cooperation. With its favorable spatial and natural layout, Jemielno has development potential, including in the area of tourism.
