Kłecko is an urban-rural municipality located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, within the Gniezno County, with its seat in the town of Kłecko. The municipality has undergone administrative changes, as from 1975 to 1998 it was part of the Poznań Voivodeship. According to data from 2016, Kłecko had a population of 7,599, and by the end of 2017, this number had decreased to 7,544 residents, accounting for 5.2% of the county's population. Within its territory lies the private Działyń airstrip, which has been operational since 2015, making it an interesting point for aviation enthusiasts. The municipality covers an area of 131.7 km², of which 86% is agricultural land and 5% is forested, highlighting the region's rural character. Demographically, the municipality is notable for its aging population, as illustrated by the age pyramid of its residents. Kłecko shares borders with five municipalities: Gniezno, Kiszkowo, Łubowo, Mieleszyn, and Mieścisko, facilitating local cooperation. The municipality comprises numerous villages, such as Bielawy, Biskupice, and Bojanice, as well as several settlements without formal village status, like Kopydłowo and Pruchnowo.
