Kalisz Pomorski is an urban-rural municipality in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, boasting a rich history and an interesting geographical structure. The seat of the municipality is the town of the same name, and the entire area covers over 48,000 hectares, a significant portion of which is occupied by the Drawsko Training Ground. The municipality stands out in the Drawsko County as the largest in terms of area and one of the largest in the region. Demographically, it shows a declining population; in 2016, it was home to 7,406 residents, accounting for 12.8% of the county's population, with the lowest population density in the region. The economy is primarily based on the timber, forestry, and agriculture industries, as well as agri-food processing, retail trade, and services. An important part of the infrastructure is the Kalisz Pomorski subzone of the Słupsk Special Economic Zone, which attracts investments. Kalisz Pomorski is surrounded by beautiful forest areas and lakes, fostering tourism development. Tourist attractions include pristine lakes, such as Lake Bobrowo Wielkie with its municipal beach, and the Drawa River, popular among kayakers.
