Drawski County, established in 1999, is located in northwestern Poland, within the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Its administrative seat is the town of Drawsko Pomorskie. The county comprises the urban-rural municipalities of Czaplinek, Drawsko Pomorskie, Kalisz Pomorski, and Złocieniec, as well as the rural municipality of Wierzchowo. The area is traversed by several important transportation routes, including national roads No. 10 and 20, numerous provincial roads, and railway lines. The county is characterized by its beautiful natural landscape, featuring the largest lake in the voivodeship—Drawsko—which is also the deepest lake in the region. The Drawsko Landscape Park, known for its diverse flora and fauna, is located within the county. Drawski County borders seven other counties, making it an important transportation hub in the region. Demographically, its population in 2019 was 57,015, with a declining trend in subsequent years. Economically, the county struggled with high unemployment, which reached 24.9% in 2012 but decreased to 12% by 2019. In terms of culture, Drawski County is known for its mascot—Bobrów Podrawkowy (the Drawsko Beaver)—which symbolizes regional heritage. In 2009, the county recorded a high crime detection rate, reflecting the effectiveness of law enforcement. Drawski County is also engaged in international cooperation with municipalities in Germany and Estonia. It is worth noting that NATO military exercises are held in the area on the large Drawsko Training Ground, which contributes to local economic development. With its rich natural, architectural, and cultural heritage, Drawski County is an interesting area for both residents and tourists.
